Het thema van de boekenweek is dit jaar het psychiatrisch fenomeen 'waanzin'. De Dolhuisgang is een kort, doodlopend steegje in de binnenstad. Het verwijst naar het hierachter, aan de Rademarkt gelegen Sint Anthony Gasthuis, waar van 1589 tot 1844 geesteszieken werden verzorgd.
This year's theme for the Dutch national book week is the psychiatric phenomenon 'madness'. The Dolhuisgang is a blind alley in the centre. The name -Madhouse Alley- refers to the Sint Anthony Gasthuis at the back, at the Rademarkt. From 1589 till 1844 mentally ill persons were cared for here.
